Remittances and household economic well-being in Nigeria: how much do remittances contribute to household economic strength

The study seeks to examine the impact of remittances on household income. Almost one out of every four households in Nigeria has a migrant settled abroad. Studies have shown that remittances contributed significantly to the economy of a nation as well as households. This study aimed at collecting household data on migration information of household members as well as the flow of remittances in support of family members. The uses of such remittances and the overall contribution of remittances to the family will be investigated. The overall effect of remittances on the standard of living of living of the household will also be investigated.
