Urbanization, water and health in Brazil: aspects of dengue fever epidemics

This paper provides an overview about the implications of Brazilian urbanization process in the water uses, calling attention to spatial distribution of population (migration) and the availability of the water in different parts of the country. The text analyses the main types of water consumption and the health impacts of the urbanization process, through the analysis of dengue fever epidemics since 1990´s.
