The effects of the social protection on the risk of disability in France

The history of the systems of social protection shows three main categories: social aid, social insurance and private insurance. The question is today to know if those forms of social protection in the field of the handicap are efficient. In order to compare them, we studied the tree main forms of benefits in France. Firstly we made an analysis of the population of beneficiaries; secondly we studied socio demographic determinants and thirdly the social determinants of being in one or an other group of benefit. In conclusion, the process seems going in this way: a weak level of social participation implies bad information, imply an orientation threw the minimum of social protection.
