The social vulnerability of disabled people. Gran Buenos Aires, Argentina. 2002-2003.

Worry for overcoming inequalities of disabled population has improved a strong power and now occupies a prominent place in the design of social policies in many countries. Also, the need to implement social and public policies implies an accompanying production of statistics in the same direction. The statistical information systems are working towards improving the measurement of disability in order to characterize the situation of disabled people to get better economic and social conditions. The purpose of this paper consists of characterizing people with disabilities in the area of Gran Buenos Aires (Argentina), in relation to their level of social vulnerability. The data source selected to conduct the investigation refers to the National Survey of Disabled People (2002-2003), which has complemented the National Census of Population, Housing and Household 2001, the last one implemented in this country.
