Diasporas and the nation. Tensions, contradictions and complex spatiality in Algeria.

This work will focus in the complex relation between the nation and Diaspora in a crucial moment of reconfiguration of national identity in Algeria: post-Civil War and current debates of national reconciliation. It will be based on a methodology centered on ethnographic work in the principal cities of origin and destination of Algerian Diaspora as well as on discourse analysis of official declarations about the process of national reconciliation and the reaction of the national press and the spokesperson of Diaspora's associations.
