Qualitative data in population research in Russia

This paper will describe the using of qualitative methods in the discipline of demography and population studies in the last decade in Russia (especially focus groups and in-depth interviews). It will analyze also how is qualitative research presented and evaluated in Russian demographic literature (types of qualitative data and spheres of its using, “rules” of adoption of such methods, “abilities” and “disabilities” of qualitative data and methods, missing to demographic research, and some ways to increase of quality of qualitative data, in particularly, in population research.
