Ageing of the population of the Czech Republic and its economic consequences in the sphere of pension security and the financing of health care

One of the most important problems of this century will undoubtedly be the continuing ageing of the population of developed countries and the economic and social consequences of this. The paper describes briefly the course of the ageing of the population of the Czech Republic in the past time and also the perspectives based on the population projection. It deals further with the possible economic consequences of the ageing of the population in the sphere of pension security system and in the financing of health care. Some possible ways of resolving these problems are briefly mentioned.
